Fairmont Le Montreux Palace is located at the shores of Lake Geneva, in the heart of Montreux the Pearl on the Swiss Riviera. It is a true jewel of Belle Époque architecture, combining contemporary design (renovation in winter 2008/2009) with classical elegance.
Los Angeles luxury ocean front hotel, Shutters on the Beach offers the ultimate California experience. The Hotel evokes a sense of comfortable elegance that one would find in a grand, yet unpretentious, beach home, while affording panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and California coastline.

"Nantucket-style shingled property, centrally located along Santa Monica Beach, that offers the perks of a luxury hotel along with a laid-back beach-house vibe.
Rooms to Book: Ocean View rooms are worth the $105 upgrade for their idyllic views and proximity to the surf (you'll wake up to it every morning). The Presidential Suites have two balconies apiece—and with this location, they’re actually worth the hefty $3,500 price tag per night.
Insider Tip: Order one of the organic tequilas, vodkas, or beers at Coast, the beachside cafe.
This sprawling beach-house-style inn looks like it was airlifted from Nantucket and dropped on the Santa Monica shore. Inside, the common areas (like the fireside lounge with chairs and sofas upholstered in seashell colors) and the 198 rooms (all whitewashed wood and blue-and-white patterned upholstery, with wicker-furnished balconies) reinforce the laid-back, summer-house vibe. But there’s real luxury here too: The on-site ONE spa offers decadent massages, facials, and body scrubs using Ole Henriksen products, and at the nautically-themed One Pico restaurant, chef Michael Reardon serves elegant seafood dishes like Petrale sole grilled whole with salt and bay leaves."

"Oceanside estate with world-class golf and tennis facilities and a lovely beach, on a barrier island just 30 minutes south of Charleston.
Rooms to Book: The oceanfront suites facing the sea--corner suite 578 has three balconies.
Insider Tip: Play the Ocean Course, site of the 1991 Ryder Cup and the 2012 PGA Championship.
Like a super-sized Tara, the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island belongs to a fictional plantation family. In the morning room, a portrait of the “Mistress” presides over moss-green brocades, floral drapes, and porcelain bibelots. The “Master” hangs his hat in the lobby bar. Tobacco-stained walnut planking creaks like the timeworn floors in an authentic antebellum mansion. Landscape architects transplanted 160 mature live oaks for the resort’s entrance avenue, and Kiawah’s beach glows pink at sunset as a shrimp trawler anchors in front of the resort. Treatments at the second-floor spa also have a distinctly Southern drawl: the Mint Julep Facial incorporates the Anakiri line’s pure-peppermint essential oil."

"City Hotel. Restaurateur Rogério Fasano established himself as a tastemaker par excellence with his flagship Fasano hotel in São Paulo. And now, the opening of the second Fasano, in Rio’s perennially chic Ipanema, sees his talent for infusing environments with social cachet reach critical mass. To design the 91 rooms, Fasano made an unexpected choice: Philippe Starck, whose penchant for provocation (not to mention plastic) doesn’t intuitively jibe with laid-back Carioca chic. But it works. Fasano’s own preference for warm, natural palettes seems to have toned Starck down. Rooms and suites are spare and breezy, with white walls, leather-upholstered Mies daybeds, Amazonian wood side tables, and at least two burnished Sergio Rodrigues chairs."

"The crowd: You have to be a guest to get access, so you'll find Brazilian models back home for a visit (or photo shoot), film crews, model scouts, and international fashion designers all mixing it up on the top deck.
How's the water? Sizzling. Located on the rooftop, with views of the sexiest swath of Ipanema Beach, this infinity pool is the hottest ticket in the Marvelous City. Bossa nova plays in the background, the waters are lit up at night, and beautiful people abound. The real fireworks occur at sunset, when the orb drops over Two Brothers Mountain (pictured) and everyone applauds.
The poolside tipple: Sip a sweet caipirinha so you'll be brave enough to don a Brazilian-style swimsuit. Think very, very small. (But remember, going topless is illegal.)
The hotel: This Philippe Starck–designed property is a welcome addition to Rio's fusty hotel scene. Its whimsical design includes 1950s furniture, yellow onyx lamps, and a huge pekia tree that doubles as a check-in desk. Since it's on the beach, touches such as providing guests with Havaianas flip-flops are spot-on. (Be sure to request an ocean-view room, though, or you might find yourself staring at a brick wall.) If the lobby-as-nightclub scene is your thing, try the chic Baretto/Londra lounge—Gisele has already christened it with her dancing booty."
