Hotel Fasano Sao Paulo
Rua Vittorio Fasano, 88
Sao Paulo, Brazil
From $750 per night
The Fasano Family, recognized for over a century for their hospitality and fine northern Italian cuisine, administrate Sao Paulo's newest and most charming property. Ten years of planning and construction have been necessary to find the only location in between the strategic Paulista and Faria Lima Avenue. They combine classical details, such as English bricks and Italian travertine marble, with a contemporary view. The Hotel offers a unique location next to the luxury shops, the city's most refined restaurants, and is only a few blocks from the business and financial districts of Avenida Paulista and Avenida Faria Lima. What's Great
Travel + Leisure says... "Business Hotel. This 299-room property just off Orchard Road marks both the debut of St. Regis in Southeast Asia and the first international luxury hotel to open in Singapore in more than a decade. This is all impressive, but where the property stands out is in the service. The multilingual butlers are rigorously trained, and we found their graciousness refreshing in the midst of Singapore’s often harried atmosphere. Our night butler, of his own accord, presented us with two different types of lens cleaners for our eyeglasses. The next morning, a double espresso was waiting for us when we woke up. Butlers are even equipped with BlackBerrys, so you can reach them wherever they are. The hotel is classic in feel, a fact which belies the modern glass façade. Interiors do acknowledge the St. Regis’s Asian setting (we loved the chinoiserie armoires and works by contemporary Chinese artists), though details like the Czech crystal chandeliers and Regency-style furniture are a tad old-fashioned for our tastes." What's Great
Travel + Leisure says... "Just over two years after the Asian tsunami wreaked havoc on Phuket’s coastline, the resort island is back and better than ever. A string of hotels have opened in the past year, the best of which is Indigo Pearl...a 277-room property on secluded Nai Yang Beach that is just putting its finishing touches. Designed by Bangkok-based architect Bill Bensley, Indigo Pearl recalls the site’s former life as a tin mine with sleek, industrial-style interiors: polished-concrete floors, steel beams, exposed ceilings, and machinery-inspired sculptures. The austere effect is offset by yards of Thai silk on pillows and chairs, plush beds, and oversize bathtubs. The sprawling property has three swimming pools (don’t miss the "snakeskin pool," tiled with glass beads), a yoga-focused spa, tennis courts, a breezy tapas bar, and five other on-site restaurants. Along the beach, a string of cheap and cheerful bars keep a lively beat throughout the day and night."
